I saw you've been struggling with the heat - same here unfortunately. I had no idea it could get this warm in Eastern Europe, before I moved here. ;-; Back in the Netherlands I thought 25 degrees was a LOT, now I find it 'cool' at 30 degrees... I really don't enjoy the heat to say the least. I'm just sweating around all day, forcing myself to stay productive while feeling extremely uncomfortable. Having a fan helps a lot, though. *nods*
And yeah, scammers are annoying... I constantly get messaged via whatsapp and telegram about jobs. I wonder who leaked my phone number... Anyway, I usually ignore scam messages, but I did accept a "job" once before and they paid me 20 bucks to earn my trust. Needless to say I took off with that money. :D:D:D

Hi! Oh I hate summer too, and it's not even that hot here. Just 17 degrees C, and windy. I do live near the sea, and I think that sometimes, I forget hoe lucky I am that I can do that. I'm diabetic, and heat makes my blood sugar rise. DO you feel angry, rageous, in the heat? I do, which makes me feel hotter. Autumn/winter are my seasons! Just think, it won't be too long to autumn.

I hella relate re: the AI em dashes and curly apostrophes thing. Your site generator alone converted your straight apostrophe into a curly one! (Which makes the point hard to understand for ppl who aren't clued in but I think it makes it even stronger.) Anyway, I fear we are entering a period of history where being too good with words is regarded with suspicion, a sign that you are either a bot or a weirdo, and it will be taken for granted that all "serious" writing is done by AI. The funny thing is it isn't hard to tell an AI to mimic an early internet informal style with ASCII only...

Just using your guestbook to respond to your latest blog post if you don't mind. :D Getting accused of AI really sucks to say the least. I used to offer content writing as a service, but I stopped doing that because my clients kept accusing me of using AI. Despite going above and beyond explaining AI detectors giving false positives, they wouldn't have any of it. It's sad when people go straight to accusation and don't take a second to use their brain to see if maybe, a human just happened to write similar. And better yet, in my case - WAS THE ARTICLE GOOD OR NOT? Because that's what matters, not whether it gets detected as AI. People focused so much on getting the article to pass AI (because muh google seo) that they didn't even care anymore whether the article was of actual quality. ffs.
"Yeah but the article is structured like chat gee tee pee would write it" Shut up. It's structured like this because I spent a couple of years of my life learning how to effectively write an article for a website. And now I can throw all of that into the bin because ChatGPT outputs the article largely the same way and people crap their pants over it not being able to understand anything.
Luckily, I never heard of the em dash being seen as 'That person used AI!' - BUT... I can see where they're coming from. I do use ChatGPT myself. And I can tell when others use it too. Especially when they sometimes write without it. Not that I care, though, lol.
The AI witch-hunting is annoying. Especially if people are just using it for personal or non-invasive means or whatever. Look, you can bully people but it's not going away. Never. Ever. AI is here to stay, whether you like it or not.

I just read your latest article and I've been "chronically online" since February 2000. I immediately LOVED the internet and everything it had to offer. I've felt it was easier to make friends online than in real life. I even met up in real life with some of those friends. Hecc, I've been living together with someone I met online for like 15 years now. O_O
The internet changed a lot though and I feel like I got trapped into social media websites through my excitement of signing up for - what we used to call them - "profile websites". Social media is just not it for me so all I gotta do is go back to what I used to do: scour the internet by hand. Personal websites, webrings, fanlistings, guestbooks, links pages. That is the most exciting part of being online in my opinion. There's FAR MORE to discover beyond social media sites. (I refuse to call them 'apps'.)
This sentence from your blog post hits the nail on the head: the internet is only as exhausting and annoying as you make it out to be.
