delete freely. that’s all i could say, and consider this post finished but let’s talk about it for a bit more. shall we? there isn’t really much to explain though. to delete freely, simply means to delete freely. things aren’t and shouldn’t really be permanent. anything that doesn’t make you happy anymore, should simply be deleted. those old photos? delete them! those old files? delete them. you just need to make sure of one thing first: are those precious memories, or useless junk? sometimes the line is very thin. and you do not want to get rid of memories, even shit ones, because every memory is precious. but you do want to get rid of junk. no one likes junk.

to delete freely also applies to social media posts, and especially to posts on your own platform (your own website). if you don’t think a specific post should be up, delete it. if you’re not happy with your website, wipe it and start over. it really is that simple. you guys have been witnesses of that, huh? this website has been wiped a couple of times hasn’t it? but that is nowhere near being a bad thing. the digital sovereignty and independence doesn’t only include hosting, crafting and posting on your own platform, it also includes deletion. nothing has to last forever. nothing.

some posts from this biggie have disappeared. some because my fucking language was to hard, some felt unnecessary, some i just wanted gone. and it all went, as it should have. gone, forgotten. erased.

anything that doesn’t simply make you happy, doesn’t deserve to exist. you should feel free to wipe, delete, purge, expunge, you get it... anything useless is just meaningless data. if you regret it, delete it. if it makes you sad, delete it. if you just feel like, delete it. don’t keep data for “just in case”. some things are better just deleted.

to delete is to be free from digital chains and the digital noose around the neck. just let go.
